Being that Robbie Hollywood, Mustang Sally, and Charlie Echo are all March babies, the Nascent Numen crew decided to throw a party to mark the occasion. We figured that the best way to celebrate would be to fly in our good friend Paul Anthony from Chicago and hire out one of the biggest rooms in town. This event is going to be in-fucking-sane. When you combine the pounding party power of Paul Anthony with the supernatural force of a trifecta birthday bash you KNOW that you’re in for an explosively good time. Giggity giggity, this is going to be fun.

After taking a short hiatus from the the DJ scene to hone her production skills, Shiek (formerly Heroin Shiek) and has been seen playing everywhere from Pi in Minneapolis to Smart Bar in Chicago. Her remixes are quickly finding their way into the playlists of numerous djs, so be sure to tune in and find out now why Shiek is one of the most overlooked djs in the twin cities.
No introduction needed for Big Mama J and to be honest, there’s no way we could have a month of ladies on Axis without her. If you were to ask around which dj is the most “fun” in Minneapolis, atop most of those lists you’d find BMJ. She simply has a knack for finding some of the best dance on the planet and through her production company, Ananda Productions, she throws the biggest NYE party in Minneapolis, ReSOULution, every year.
Since 2000 NatOsha has promoted the soulful sounds of 2 step, UK 4/4 and Speed Garage to Minneapolis. As one of the original members of Steppers Alliance she helped build a UK Garage and 2 step scene in Minneapolis on diversity and community. Since leaving the “cru” in early ‘02, She continues to bring you Garage the way it should be; soulful, full of bass and always changing. She is here tonight for what should be stepper’s treat.
Miss Paris will tonight glisten our taste buds with the sounds of funk and electro. She has been the current resident of the Bolt Underground, Chambers, and the Puma MOA. She is a familiar name here in the cities providing many shows for just about anyone an opportunity to listen in on her sets. We hope that she puts forth the sound reputation she has in the sounds we hope to hear from her tonight.
March is often known for many things such as the lion, spring, and warmer weather, but Axis has decided to dedicate it to none only than the women of the EDM scene.
Recently resurrected onto the scene, Lady Sparx has spun with the likes of many local talents. They include people like Swoope, Christian James, and Jevne just to name a few. Her talented ear for music doesn’t limit her to one specific genre and she will spin any set depending on her mood and what the venue or event calls for. We start off Lady’s Month with a little bit of Mustang Sally, but a whole lot of Lady Sparx.
The last appearance he made on Axis had us hypnotized by the sounds and skills he presented in his set. He is one of the elite in the TC area and we knew that he had to one day make another appearance. Swoope is by far a talent on the decks and his name is familiar with the likes of everyone who frequents the EDM scene here in the cities. Tonight, we can’t wait for Swoope to give us a set that will rock the ages.
Despite the fact that his music beats thump right in your chest, Dan Hack is not the violent type (at least as far as we know….)He is one of the top Drum and Bass DJs in the Twin Cities area and it’s always a pleasure to have him on Axis. We’re not quite sure how he manages to live with 2 trance djs, but perhaps it’s what keeps him on the level!
We’ve come a long way and many changes have shaped and reshaped our idea and philosophy of what is electronic music. With his current residency at Myth, EJ continues to share his love of house music with the masses every Saturday night.
Minneapolis-based House of Zed is Zed Grafing, a.k.a Reverend Zed. He’s been a jazz musician, rocker, and occasional Karaoke whore, but electronic music is his passion. And yes, Zed is a Gnostic minister. Interweaving his own beats and melodies with the incredible music of some of the people he truly admires, House of Zed creates a vibe that brings the tribes together to bounce. He is here tonight on Axis and we are proud to bring him down.
